What if you could just join a program and get rich without doing anything? Wouldn't that be nice?
Unfortunately that's not the case, you have to do something to earn more money. You don't earn much money if you don't have some costumers to buy something from you. This is one of the first "know how" you have to learn at the beginning. If you don't know how to market yourself, you don't have any change to sell anything.
So what do you have to learn first?
Here is the opinion big and different, some think writing is the best tool, some think web design and some think free traffic.

Writing:
That’s one of the best things to do for quality traffic. But if you don't know how to begin or how to market yourself it's a problem to write a good article.
Tips: Make a blog or a website on a topic you know and market it thru article writing. Then you are doing link building at the same time. “Free eBooks about the topic in the resources menu.”

Web design:
If you don't know anything about web design, don't worry because it's lot's of free tools to do this for you. Joomla is a great tool for making websites and easy to install. Search for free templates or go to webshapes.org and download some. The only thing you have to have is a domain name and a web host. You find some from my adds.

Free traffic:
Free traffic, lists and community is a time consuming job, but in the long run it pays off. Many people start out through traffic exchanges and safe list and if you are a member, you can find these people. Some of the best referrals today use free traffic. Get in the free traffic category and see a huge list for you to start in.

So all of the above is great methods to use to market your business. These methods takes care of your link building and page rank.
